News Update: New Castle Fire District No.1 Modernization Project Update: Stop Work Order Lifted, Excavation and Footing Work to Begin
Chappaqua, NY
The New Castle Fire District No. 1 Modernization Project is moving forward with exciting new developments, as the previously issued stop work order has officially been lifted. The project team is now set to begin excavation work and the forming of footings along the southwest portion of the site.
Following a brief delay due to necessary regulatory reviews, the project is back on track and poised to make significant progress in the coming weeks. The next phase of construction will focus on preparing the foundation, with excavation starting immediately to clear the area for the footings.
In addition to the construction work, environmental concerns are being carefully addressed. Air quality is being actively monitored throughout the construction process to ensure safe levels for the community. Tree stumps are also being removed as part of site preparation, while asphalt work continues to prepare the area for upcoming stages of construction. The removal of the old siren is underway to further improve safety and enhance the area’s aesthetic.
Community members are encouraged to stay informed through the Fire District's website and local announcements as construction continues. Updates regarding the project timeline and any potential impacts on local traffic will be shared regularly. The fire district welcomes community feedback and will continue to provide updates throughout the construction phase.
