New Castle Fire District No. 1 Modernization Project Update: Excavation, Formwork, and Concrete Pouring Underway Chappaqua, NY
The New Castle Fire District No. 1 Modernization Project is progressing with key activities moving forward.
Key Updates Include:
•Excavation Work: Excavation has been completed along the southwest portion of the site, with ongoing excavation along the western section to prepare for footings and foundation work. •Formwork Installation: Formwork installation is set to begin shortly. These materials are critical for the structural preparation of the foundation. •Concrete Pouring: A total of 94 cubic yards of concrete has been poured along the southwest portion of the new foundation. Additional concrete pours will continue, with work scheduled to form a retaining wall along the west side of the new addition. A total of 9 concrete trucks have delivered material to the site so far. •Cold Weather Plan: A cold weather plan is in place to ensure construction activities, including concrete pouring, proceed without delay despite potential weather challenges. •Environmental Safety Measures: Silt fences will be installed to manage erosion and runoff, with silt baskets placed to catch sediment and protect nearby stormwater systems. A tracking pad will also be set up at the site entrance to prevent soil from being tracked onto surrounding roads.
